How do I open the developer tools (or dev. inspector) in my browser?
If you experience performance issues in SpeakUp and contact our Support team, you may be asked to share a screenshot of your browser's developer tools. This will help our IT team better understand and diagnose the issue more efficiently.
-
To open the developer tools in your browser, follow the instructions based on your laptop’s operating system:
-
If you are using Windows: Click on “Ctrl” + “Shift” + “I”
-
If you are using macOS: Click on “Command” + “Option” + “I”
-
-
You can now replicate the issue and take a screenshot or screen recording while keeping the following tabs open in your developer tools:
-
Console
-
Network - Tab "Fetch/XHR"
-
- Please make sure that the screenshot includes the developer tools, the SpeakUp website and the time (if possible).
-
If you are using Internet Explorer in Windows, you can open the developer tools by pressing F2 in your keyboard.
-
If you are using Safari in macOS, you first need to enabled the Develop menu. Please go to menu “Safari”, click on “Settings”, then “Advanced” and check “Show Develop menu in menu bar”. Then, open the tools by clicking “Command” + “Option” + “I”.
